Sinclair Ang

Sinclair Ang is the founder of JAZZ INC. Having taught Swing Dancing over one and a half decades, and two decades of dance experience, Sinclair Ang has also taught and performed in over 30 cities and 20 countries across Europe and Asia-Pacific, bringing his unique approach to the dance and music to scenes everywhere.  He is no stranger to TV in Singapore as well, having appeared in documentaries and features on dance.

In Singapore, Sinclair is also committed to working with youths, including working on the Jazz Kids for the past 11 years – children who sing jazz standards and dance authentic jazz steps. He has conducted workshops and given lecture-demonstrations to numerous Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions on Jazz dancing and the Music. He has also worked with youths at risk from Beyond Social Services, as well as helped young inmates as part of the National Youth Achievement Award.

Sinclair also leads the Rhythmakers, who play jazz standards from the golden era of jazz, for dancers and listeners alike.

Denise Lwin

Denise is the Artistic Director of Wings to Wings studio, and is a passionate lindy hopper who believes in the joy and spontaneity of the dance. She is trained as a ballerina (RAD Advanced and Teaching certification), but began swing dancing in 2014 and has since become the main teaching assistant to Sinclair Ang of Jazz Inc. Her many years of performing and teaching Ballet and children has made her a natural at picking up the dance, as well as taking to the role of instructor and performer very easily.

Robert Huva

Robert has been swing dancing since 2008, doing primarily Lindy Hop, but also Authentic Solo Jazz, Blues, and Balboa. Robert comes from a musical background with 20 years experience in guitar and 6 years on the drums. His knowledge of music structure and rhythms allows him to now express music with his feet and body in the dance, both on the dance floor, and on stage. Trained as a scientist, his approach to the dance is highly analytical, making him a fast learner, and natural teacher. He continues to seek inspiration and develops himself through learning from international teachers at workshops and training sessions.

Amanda Lee

Amanda started Lindy Hop in 2014 and has trained under Sinclair Ang as a teacher and performer since 2016. A big part of Authentic Solo Jazz and Lindy Hop which she enjoys is its element of improvisation and the constant dialogue with the music and her partner.  As an avid pianist, her knowledge of the music informs her dancing, allowing her to translate her understanding of the rhythms and form to her movement and students.  When she is not dancing, she can be found performing for dancers on the keyboard with swing bands.

Farizan Abubakar

Farizan is a passionate and eccentric swing dancer and the latest addition to the teaching team at Jazz Inc.  Once a choreographer at NUS Swing, she is now undergoing training with Sinclair to become an instructor.  Despite being a relatively young dancer, having only started in 2015, Farizan is swiftly becoming a dancer to be reckoned with, and has also performed and competed at various dance events.

Sarah Smith

Having over 15 years of training in Ballet, Sarah went on to expand her horizons to train with renowned instructors like Low Mei Yoke, Lionel Araya, and Sinclair Ang in Hip Hop, Jazz, Salsa, Lindy Hop, and the Charleston, thereby making her one of the most versatile dancers and instructors around.  She has many years of performance experience as well, having performed for many events, including the Chingay parade and Youth Olymic Games, and has choreographed for several events, including ITE’s 20th Anniversary.  She is now a contemporary dance, broadway, and street jazz instructor, specialising in teaching youths and children, teaching at O School and ITE CEMTA.

She teaches most of the kids programmes for JAZZ INC, in addition to all the non-authentic jazz workshops for all ages.
