Big thanks to all who swung by for Rockin In Rhythm in mid June. Hope you guys were inspired by our awesome teachers and had fun dancing to the Sin City Stompers! We now begin the second half of the year with an Intro to Swing for beginners, a Slow Lindy course for intermediate dancers, as well as a Frankie Manning series to learn some of the classic partnered and solo routines! This time of the year also promises to be busy as we are involved in several big events including Jazz in July at the Esplanade, Night Festival at the Singapore Art Museum, and the Esplanade’s Da:ns Festival from July-October.

So here are some important dates to take note of for these events –

12 July, 2-4pm, Bitesize (Esplanade Rehearsal Studio) – Swinging the Blues: A lecture-video-demo of street dancing from 1920s to present day, tracing this development and relationship between the various forms and how they evolved. Tickets from Sistic.

25 July, 945-1030pm, Jazz in July, (Esplanade Outdoor Theatre) – Swing It by The Bay: Dancing to Elaine Lau and her Big Band. All are welcomed to join in! Free.

26 July, 6-730pm, AND 29 Aug 2-3pm, Footwork, Esplanade Rehearsal StudioSwing for Beginners: Absolute beginners one-off workshop. Tickets from Sistic

28 Aug, 845-915pm – Night Festival, Singapore Art Museum: Performance and a free taster class, so bring your friends and join in for a bit of socials at the start for a couple of songs

25 Sept 7-830pm, Footwork, Esplanade Rehearsal StudioElectroswing: Absolute beginners one off workshop. Tickets from Sistic.

Keep 16 and 18 Oct evenings free as well, as we will be taking to the stage at What’s Your Move, with performances and free classes!
